When a client's payment doesn't go through, their service will be suspended and you may be at risk of losing them. However, if you are able to avoid payment failure before it happens, you can reduce attrition and keep more clients paying for your services.

There are three important things you can do to stop cancellation due to failed payments:

  • Ask your clients to update their credit card before the expiration date.

  • Retry billing if payment declines.

  • Ask your clients to update their card when the payment declines.

This will allow your clients to have uninterrupted service and help you avoid lost revenue for your business.

Let's see how to set these up in Trainerfu:

  1. Go to More > Settings > Manage Stripe Account.

  2. Click on Automated Emails. This will take you to the automation section inside your Stripe account.

  3. In the Prevent failed payment section, toggle on the setting: Send emails about expiring cards.

  4. In the Manage failed payments section, set the Retry schedule.

  5. Under the same section, turn-on the Customer emails option. Set the custom link to https://app.trainerfu.com/web/client-portal
